Since its debut in 1964, the Mustang Bass has been one of Fender's longest lasting bass designs, used by a great range of bassists from bands such as The Rolling Stones and My Chemical Romance. This modernised version of the short-scale underground icon adds the power of our venerable P Bass® and J Bass® pickups to the traditional Mustang design for versatile and thunderous bass tone with smooth playing feel and slick visual appearance.

Featuring a time-tested pair of pickups, the Mustang Bass PJ has plenty of tones that can suit any sonic requirement. A punchy split single-coil P Bass® middle pickup and a growling Jazz Bass neck pickup make an unbeatable pairing that offers the best of both worlds. Master volume and tone controls, along with a conventional three-way pickup switch give you access to all the tone. The 30" scale is more comfortable to play whilst reducing string tension, creating a looser playing feel that lends itself to nimble playing styles while adding a rich, "blooming" character to the lower notes and sweetening the higher notes. Finished with a 9.5"-radius Pau Ferro fingerboard with 19 medium jumbo frets, the "C"-shaped maple neck is comfortable for all playing styles.
