Description
The Wampler Plexi-Drive Mini delivers the unmistakable sound and feel of a vintage British tube amplifier in an ultra-compact format. Built around the same FET-based circuit as the original Plexi-Drive, this updated version adds refined tonal tweaks and new features while preserving the classic crunch and dynamic response that made the original a favorite among players.
Inspired by the legendary tones of late-'60s British amplifiers, the Plexi-Drive Mini covers everything from vintage Plexi-style breakup to the roaring punch of a fully cranked JTM-45®. The newly added Mid Boost switch enhances multiple gain stages simultaneously for a thick, tube-like boost, while the Bass Boost switch recreates the tonal difference between a 4x12 and 2x12 speaker cabinet for even greater flexibility.
Despite its miniature footprint, the Plexi-Drive Mini offers impressive gain, responsive touch sensitivity, and exceptional tonal shaping. Built in the USA with premium components and true bypass switching, it serves equally well as a standalone overdrive or as the foundation of a stacked gain setup.
