Warranty Policy

EGA Guitars 1-Year Limited Warranty

Last Updated: September 9, 2026

EGA Guitars LLC (“EGA Guitars,” “EGA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) warrants eligible musical instruments sold by EGA Guitars for a period of one (1) year from the date of delivery to the original purchaser, subject to the terms, limitations, and exclusions contained in this Limited Warranty.

This Limited Warranty applies to eligible instruments whether sold as new, used, open-box, B-stock, or professionally refurbished, unless otherwise expressly stated in the applicable product listing.

This Limited Warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is not transferable.

Unless otherwise expressly stated in the applicable product listing, eligible instruments purchased directly through EGAGuitars.com or an EGA Guitars-operated marketplace or sales channel are covered by this Limited Warranty.

1. Covered Instruments

For purposes of this Limited Warranty, a “Covered Instrument” means an eligible physical musical instrument sold by EGA Guitars.

Covered Instruments may include, without limitation:

  • Electric guitars
  • Acoustic guitars
  • Acoustic-electric guitars
  • Classical guitars
  • Bass guitars
  • Acoustic basses
  • Ukuleles
  • Mandolins
  • Other comparable physical stringed, fretted, or non-electronic musical instruments sold by EGA Guitars

A Covered Instrument may contain electronic components such as pickups, onboard preamps, switches, potentiometers, output jacks, batteries, or active electronics.

The presence of electronics incorporated into an otherwise Covered Instrument does not, by itself, exclude the instrument from this Limited Warranty.

2. Products Not Covered by This 1-Year Instrument Warranty

Unless EGA Guitars expressly states otherwise in writing or in the applicable product listing, this One-Year Limited Warranty does not apply to standalone electronic equipment, electronic musical instruments, software, digital products, accessories, or other non-covered products.

Excluded products include, without limitation:

  • Keyboards
  • Digital pianos
  • Synthesizers
  • MIDI controllers
  • Electronic drum kits

  • Parts and accessories sold separately

These products may be covered by a manufacturer's warranty, a separate EGA Guitars product-specific warranty, or another warranty expressly stated at the time of sale.

3. What This Limited Warranty Covers

Subject to all limitations and exclusions contained in this policy, EGA Guitars will repair qualifying defects in a Covered Instrument that arise during normal and intended use during the warranty period.

Covered defects may include qualifying failures involving:

  • Pickups
  • Internal wiring
  • Output jacks
  • Switches
  • Potentiometers and controls
  • Onboard preamps or active electronics incorporated into the instrument
  • Tuning machines
  • Bridges
  • Tremolo components
  • Hardware
  • Structural or mechanical components

A component becoming worn, requiring adjustment, or changing through ordinary use does not, by itself, constitute a warrantable defect.

If EGA Guitars confirms that a qualifying defect is covered by this Limited Warranty, EGA Guitars will repair the covered defect at no charge for covered parts and labor.

4. Limitations and Exclusions

The following items, conditions, and circumstances are not covered by this Limited Warranty.

A. Wear Items and Consumables

  • Case hardware
  • Other consumable or wear-related components

Normal wear to jacks, switches, controls, tuning machines, bridges, tremolo components, and similar hardware is also excluded.

A premature functional failure caused by an otherwise covered defect may still be evaluated for warranty coverage.

B. Finish and Cosmetic Conditions

This Limited Warranty does not cover:

  • Finish checking
  • Finish sinking
  • Finish shrinkage
  • Finish cracking
  • Discoloration
  • Fading
  • Clouding

  • Pick marks
  • Buckle rash
  • Plating wear
  • Tarnishing
  • Other cosmetic deterioration

Natural wood grain, mineral streaks, color variation, and other naturally occurring material characteristics are not defects.

Setups, adjustments, and routine maintenance are not covered by this Limited Warranty.

This includes:

  • Truss rod adjustments
  • Neck relief adjustments
  • Action adjustments
  • Intonation adjustments

  • Conditioning
  • Routine fret polishing
  • Routine fret-end dressing
  • Seasonal setup changes
  • Adjustments based on player preference

EGA Guitars may voluntarily assist a customer with an adjustment or setup as a customer-service accommodation. Such assistance does not make routine maintenance a covered warranty condition and does not modify the terms of this Limited Warranty.

5. Temperature, Humidity, and Environmental Conditions

Damage, deterioration, movement, or changes caused in whole or in part by environmental conditions are not covered.

This includes conditions resulting from:

  • Excessive or insufficient humidity
  • Excessive heat or cold
  • Rapid temperature changes
  • Excessive dryness
  • Moisture or water exposure
  • Sunlight
  • Fire
  • Smoke
  • Salt air
  • Perspiration
  • Body oils or salts
  • Chemicals
  • Cleaning products
  • Improper polishes
  • Improper storage
  • Improper guitar stands or hangers

Environmental conditions may result in:

  • Wood movement

  • Changes in neck relief
  • Fret sprout
  • Sharp or exposed fret ends
  • Changes in action
  • Changes in playability
  • Finish checking
  • Finish sinking
  • Finish shrinkage
  • Cracking
  • Splitting
  • Warping
  • Swelling
  • Corrosion
  • Rust

These conditions do not, by themselves, constitute a warrantable defect.

EGA Guitars performs instrument inspection and setup work in an environment maintained at approximately 70°F and 50% relative humidity. Instruments transported into materially different environmental conditions may require an acclimation period and subsequent routine adjustment.

6. Accidents, Abuse, Misuse, and Neglect

This Limited Warranty does not cover damage, failure, or deterioration caused by:

  • Drops
  • Impacts
  • Crushing
  • Abuse
  • Misuse
  • Neglect

  • Improper transportation
  • Liquid exposure

  • Drilling
  • Refinishing
  • Repainting
  • Pickup replacement
  • Wiring modification
  • Hardware modification
  • Structural alteration
  • Fret modification
  • Nut replacement or modification
  • Installation of aftermarket parts
  • Improper installation of components or accessories

Third-party modification or service does not automatically terminate otherwise valid warranty coverage.

However, EGA Guitars is not responsible for any defect, failure, damage, or condition caused by, resulting from, contributed to by, or materially affected by such modification, installation, repair, or service.

8. Normal Wear, Aging, and Deterioration

Normal wear and tear, aging, deterioration, and changes caused by ordinary use are not covered by this Limited Warranty.

A Covered Instrument or component requiring service because it has worn through ordinary use is not considered defective merely because the condition occurs during the warranty period.

9. Disclosed Conditions

Any defect, repair, modification, damage, blemish, cosmetic condition, or other issue that was disclosed or reasonably visible at the time of purchase is not covered.

This includes conditions disclosed through:

  • Product descriptions
  • Condition statements
  • Product photographs
  • Damage disclosures
  • Repair disclosures
  • Listing notes
  • Other information provided to the purchaser before purchase

The individual instrument's product listing, photographs, written condition description, repair disclosures, and damage disclosures form part of the instrument's condition disclosure at the time of sale.

10. New, Used, Open-Box, B-Stock, and Refurbished Instruments

This Limited Warranty applies to eligible Covered Instruments regardless of whether they are sold as new, used, open-box, B-stock, or professionally refurbished, unless otherwise stated in the applicable product listing.

Used and refurbished instruments may exhibit:

  • Cosmetic wear
  • Prior repairs
  • Finish imperfections
  • Replacement components
  • Signs of previous use
  • Authorized refurbishment markings
  • Other characteristics consistent with their disclosed condition

These characteristics are not warranty defects merely because the instrument is not cosmetically identical to a new, untouched factory instrument.

Professionally Refurbished Instruments

Certain instruments sold by EGA Guitars may have been professionally processed through an authorized refurbishment program, including instruments processed through MIRC or another authorized refurbishment provider.

Such instruments may contain:

  • A “USED” stamp
  • A replacement or reassigned serial number
  • A refurbishment label
  • Modification or replacement of an original manufacturer serial designation
  • Other authorized refurbishment markings or identification

Authorized refurbishment markings applied before EGA Guitars sold the instrument do not reduce or invalidate this EGA Guitars Limited Warranty.

11. Serial Numbers and Identification

An instrument may become ineligible for warranty coverage if its serial number, EGA identification number, or other identifying information is removed, altered, destroyed, concealed, or tampered with after purchase from EGA Guitars, where that alteration prevents EGA Guitars from reasonably:

  • Identifying the instrument
  • Verifying the original purchase
  • Confirming ownership
  • Determining warranty eligibility
  • Evaluating the warranty claim

Authorized replacement serial numbers, MIRC labels, “USED” stamps, refurbishment identifiers, or other authorized markings applied before sale are expressly excluded from this limitation.

12. Original Purchaser and Transfer

This Limited Warranty applies only to the original purchaser of the Covered Instrument.

The warranty is not transferable.

Coverage terminates if the original purchaser sells, trades, transfers, or otherwise conveys ownership of the Covered Instrument to another person or entity.

13. Products Purchased From Other Sellers

This Limited Warranty applies only to eligible Covered Instruments originally purchased from EGA Guitars through EGAGuitars.com or an EGA Guitars-operated marketplace or sales channel.

EGA Guitars does not provide coverage under this policy for instruments originally purchased from another retailer, dealer, marketplace seller, private seller, or other third party.

14. Warranty Service

A customer requesting service under this Limited Warranty must first contact EGA Guitars.

Email: support@egaguitars.com

EGA Guitars may request reasonable information necessary to evaluate the claim, including:

  • Original order number
  • Purchaser's name
  • Instrument make and model
  • Serial number or EGA identification number
  • Description of the claimed condition
  • Photographs
  • Video
  • Troubleshooting information
  • Other information reasonably necessary to evaluate the claim

EGA Guitars may attempt to diagnose or troubleshoot the concern remotely before requiring physical inspection.

If EGA Guitars determines that physical inspection or warranty repair is required, the Covered Instrument must be returned to EGA Guitars for evaluation and repair.

No instrument should be returned without first receiving return authorization and instructions from EGA Guitars.

15. Warranty Evaluation and Coverage Determination

All warranty claims are evaluated individually on a case-by-case basis based upon the facts and circumstances of the particular claim.

EGA Guitars will determine whether a claimed condition qualifies for coverage under this Limited Warranty based upon the terms of this policy and EGA Guitars' reasonable evaluation of all relevant information.

EGA Guitars may consider, among other reasonably relevant factors:

  • The physical condition of the instrument
  • The nature and severity of the claimed condition
  • The original product listing
  • Original listing photographs
  • Condition descriptions
  • Disclosed damage, defects, blemishes, modifications, or repairs
  • Sales and warranty records
  • Age and use of the instrument
  • Evidence of normal wear or deterioration
  • Environmental exposure or environmental changes
  • Storage and handling conditions
  • Modifications or aftermarket components
  • Previous repair or service
  • Evidence of accident, abuse, misuse, or neglect
  • Information provided by the customer
  • Inspection or diagnostic findings
  • Any other reasonably relevant circumstances

EGA Guitars retains discretion to determine, based upon its reasonable evaluation of the Covered Instrument and the terms of this Limited Warranty, whether a claimed condition constitutes a covered warranty defect.

The existence or discovery of a condition during the one-year warranty period does not, by itself, establish that the condition is covered by this Limited Warranty.

EGA Guitars may require reasonable documentation, photographs, video, troubleshooting, testing, or physical inspection before making a warranty determination.

Where the nature or cause of a claimed condition cannot reasonably be determined remotely, EGA Guitars may require the Covered Instrument to be returned before warranty eligibility is determined.

A determination made regarding one instrument, customer, condition, or claim applies only to the circumstances of that particular claim and does not establish coverage, precedent, or an obligation regarding another instrument or warranty claim.

Any goodwill accommodation, exception, repair, adjustment, credit, shipping assistance, or other assistance offered in connection with one claim does not establish that the same accommodation will be provided in another case.

Nothing in this section permits EGA Guitars to deny any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.

16. Warranty Repair and Remedy Determination

If EGA Guitars determines that a qualifying covered defect exists, EGA Guitars will repair the covered defect at no charge for covered parts and labor.

EGA Guitars will determine the appropriate remedy based upon the nature and severity of the defect, feasibility and cost of repair, availability of parts, availability of replacement inventory, age and condition of the instrument, and other reasonably relevant circumstances.

Depending on the circumstances, EGA Guitars may:

  • Repair the Covered Instrument
  • Repair the affected component
  • Replace a defective component
  • Perform corrective bench work necessary to repair the covered defect
  • Replace the Covered Instrument with the same or a reasonably comparable instrument when appropriate and available
  • Provide store credit when appropriate
  • Refund all or an appropriate portion of the original purchase price when repair or replacement is impractical
  • Provide another appropriate remedy consistent with this Limited Warranty and applicable law

The customer may request a particular remedy; however, except where otherwise required by applicable law, the determination of the appropriate warranty remedy remains with EGA Guitars.

The primary remedy under this Limited Warranty is repair of the Covered Instrument or covered defect by EGA Guitars.

Replacement components may be new, used, refurbished, reconditioned, or functionally equivalent when appropriate.

A replacement instrument may be new, used, open-box, B-stock, refurbished, or otherwise reasonably comparable in condition and value when appropriate.

Warranty service, repair, component replacement, or instrument replacement does not restart or extend the original one-year warranty period unless required by applicable law.

17. Third-Party Repairs and Expenses

Customers must contact EGA Guitars before authorizing third-party diagnostic or repair work if they intend to seek reimbursement or warranty coverage for that work.

EGA Guitars is not responsible for reimbursement of:

  • Third-party repair charges
  • Diagnostic charges
  • Labor charges
  • Replacement parts
  • Setup charges
  • Shipping expenses
  • Travel expenses
  • Other third-party costs or expenses

unless EGA Guitars expressly authorized those expenses in writing before the expense was incurred or the work was performed.

EGA Guitars may deny coverage for any condition caused by, contributed to by, altered by, concealed by, or made materially more difficult to evaluate because of improper repair, modification, disassembly, installation, or third-party service.

18. Returning an Instrument for Warranty Service

If physical inspection or repair is required, the Covered Instrument must be returned to EGA Guitars.

The customer must obtain return authorization and follow the return instructions provided by EGA Guitars before shipping the instrument.

The instrument must be packaged safely and securely for transportation.

EGA Guitars may require the customer to follow specific packaging instructions.

Damage occurring during return shipment as a result of inadequate or improper packaging is not covered by this Limited Warranty.

Shipping charges associated with warranty service are separate from EGA Guitars' obligation to repair a qualifying covered defect and will be addressed as part of the individual warranty claim process.

19. Manufacturer and Other Product Warranties

Certain products sold by EGA Guitars may be covered by a manufacturer's warranty instead of, or in addition to, an EGA Guitars warranty.

Manufacturer warranty eligibility, duration, coverage, exclusions, and remedies are determined by the applicable manufacturer.

This is particularly applicable to products excluded from the EGA Guitars One-Year Limited Instrument Warranty, including:

  • Electronics
  • Keyboards
  • Amplifiers
  • Pedals
  • Recording equipment
  • Software
  • Digital products
  • Accessories
  • Other non-covered products

Where appropriate, EGA Guitars may assist a customer in identifying the applicable manufacturer warranty process.

Nothing in this Limited Warranty eliminates or reduces a manufacturer warranty or other consumer right that otherwise applies.

20. Warranty and Return Policy Are Separate

This Limited Warranty is separate from the EGA Guitars Return Policy.

A warranty claim concerns a qualifying defect or failure covered under this Limited Warranty.

A return based upon:

  • Change of mind
  • Buyer preference
  • Tone
  • Feel
  • Weight
  • Appearance
  • Neck profile
  • Action preference
  • Ergonomics
  • Buyer remorse
  • Other non-defect reasons

is governed by the EGA Guitars Return Policy, including its applicable deadlines, shipping provisions, restocking fees, and other terms.

The existence of this Limited Warranty does not extend the applicable return period.

Expiration of the applicable return period does not terminate an otherwise valid Limited Warranty claim.

21. Limitation of Implied Warranties

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES APPLICABLE TO A COVERED INSTRUMENT, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE ONE-YEAR DURATION OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY.

Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so this limitation may not apply to you.

22. Limitation of Damages

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, EGA GUITARS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY FOR INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF USE, LOST INCOME, LOST PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES, RENTAL COSTS, TRAVEL EXPENSES, OR OTHER CONSEQUENTIAL LOSSES.

Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so these limitations may not apply to you.

23. Customer-Service Accommodations and Exceptions

EGA Guitars may, at its discretion, provide repairs, adjustments, credits, shipping accommodations, parts, exchanges, or other assistance beyond what is required under this Limited Warranty.

Such accommodations are voluntary and may be based upon the individual circumstances of a particular customer or claim.

Any such accommodation:

  • Does not modify this Limited Warranty
  • Does not constitute an admission that a condition was covered by warranty
  • Does not extend the warranty period
  • Does not waive any limitation or exclusion contained in this policy
  • Does not establish precedent
  • Does not create an obligation to provide the same or similar accommodation to another customer or claim

EGA Guitars' decision to make an exception in one instance does not waive its right to enforce the terms of this Limited Warranty in that instance or any future instance.

24. Legal Rights

This Limited Warranty gives you specific legal rights.

You may also have other rights that vary from state to state or jurisdiction to jurisdiction.

Nothing in this Limited Warranty is intended to waive, exclude, or restrict any consumer right or remedy that cannot legally be waived, excluded, or restricted.
