Description
Epiphone continues its tradition of recreating iconic guitars inspired by historic designs with a hard-rock classic: the Explorer ‘80s EMG. Originally introduced as part of Gibson's modernistic series in 1958, the Explorer found its true identity decades later in the high-gain metal scene of the 1980s.
This Epiphone take focuses on the 1984-inspired version, featuring an angular mahogany body, set-in ‘60s SlimTaper neck, and rosewood fingerboard for fast, comfortable playability. The iconic "hockey-stick" headstock completes the vintage-correct silhouette.
Equipped with an EMG 60/81 active pickup set, this model delivers high-output tones with tight low end, cutting mids, and articulate highs that stay clear even under extreme gain.
