Description

While ESP first got started in 1975 as a small repair shop in Tokyo, it was really toward the mid ‘80s when their guitars and basses grabbed the attention of players around the world. The LTD '87 Series are faithful recreations of instruments from ESP's 1987 catalog, capturing the original design philosophy with modern precision.

Unlike the current single-cutaway Eclipse shape, the original ESP Eclipse was based on the TE archtop form, which serves as the foundation for the LTD Eclipse '87. This model delivers neck-thru-body construction with a mahogany body and three-piece maple neck, combining sustain, stability, and classic feel.

The '87 Series Eclipse features a Seymour Duncan '59 (neck) and JB (bridge) pickup set with original-style bobbins and a push-pull coil-splitting control, plus a Floyd Rose-1000 locking tremolo for expressive performance and tuning stability.
