Description
The G&L Tribute Series Legacy® HSS combines the classic feel and chime of the Legacy platform with the added power and versatility of a bridge humbucker. Designed by G&L VP of Engineering Paul Gagon, the Legacy HSS balances vintage-inspired single-coil clarity with modern humbucking punch, making it equally comfortable covering clean, bluesy tones and higher-gain rock applications.
A pair of G&L CLF-100 Alnico V single-coils in the neck and middle positions deliver the sparkling highs, rich harmonics, and dynamic response associated with classic late-1950s designs. At the bridge, a G&L AW4368 Alnico humbucker provides increased output, thicker mids, and greater sustain while retaining excellent articulation. The push/pull coil-split on the treble control allows the bridge pickup to deliver convincing single-coil-style tones when desired, greatly expanding the guitar's tonal palette.
Like the standard Legacy®, the HSS model features Leo Fender's PTB (Passive Treble and Bass) system for enhanced tonal shaping across all pickup positions, along with his innovative Dual-Fulcrum vibrato system for smooth operation, expressive pitch control, and exceptional tuning stability.
