The Ibanez SR500 is a Soundgear series solid body electric bass introduced in 2004, designed for players who demand comfort, versatility, and modern tone. Known for its slim profile, lightweight mahogany body, and fast-playing neck, the SR500 became a staple for working bassists across a wide range of genres.
Across its 2004-2018 production run, the SR500 evolved with updates to neck construction, electronics, and hardware while maintaining its core identity. Dual Bartolini MK1 soapbar pickups paired with active 3-band EQ electronics deliver a broad tonal palette, from deep, punchy lows to articulate highs, making the SR500 equally at home on stage or in the studio.
