Inspired by the smooth, natural compression of legendary studio optical compressors, the Union Tube & Transistor LAB Optical Compressor delivers up to 30dB of musical compression with exceptional clarity and low noise. Its custom-designed optocoupler provides a fast attack, slow release and program-dependent response that feels natural and expressive on every note.

With simple Compression and Gain controls, the LAB is quick to dial in while offering outstanding performance on electric guitar, bass, acoustic guitar, vocals and drums. The Bean Counter version features the same acclaimed compression circuit with a non-color changing LED and simplified packaging.
